Sean has fully recovered from surgery performed a little more than a week ago. Without going in to too much detail, the staff at Helene Fuld were able to re-connect some pieces of Sean that they had borrowed about 4 months ago. Sean’s noggin is once again well rounded.
Sean has since been transported back to Kessler and his progress continues to be slow and steady. His cognitive skills are very sharp. You can talk to Sean about any subject and he quickly and decisively absorbs and responds. Physically, he is still struggling with use of his legs, his right hand, and speaking. He is working very hard on all though.
This weekend, Frank, Kathy and Tim were able to take Sean out to lunch at a nearby restaurant down the road from Kessler. My little friend Haley and I greeted them upon their return from lunch. Sean recognized us from about 50 feet away and gave a big wave. He was able to help out a little by moving his legs when Frank shifted him from the car to the wheelchair. Inside, one of Sean’s therapists asked Sean what he had for lunch. After a brief pause, Sean mouthed the words “cheeseburger”. He wasn’t able to produce a sound but all else looked good.
On my way out, Sean shook my hand, with his RIGHT HAND.
Keep it up Seanster.
More to come….Steve

Sean buddy, you're doing really well. We were with you during the week and again on Sunday playing some Texas hold 'em. I hope you had a good time, I know we did. You look really good and I always see a nice improvement every time we are there. And you know the expression....slow and steady wins the race man. This is not a race by any means but every person you know, and a bunch of people who never had the pleasure of meeting you before are all pulling and rooting for you for a full recovery.... Keep it up....work as hard as you possibly can, and good things will happen. It was great to see your smile once again. If I bust your chops too much when I'm there....just kick my butt....you have my permission. It was also cool to meet some of your buddies from U Del....keep up the good work and we'll see ya this week.

Hi Sean, Kathy, Frank and Tim,
ReplyDeleteGreat news of the progress being made!
One day soon it's all going to "click!" We are praying with you for that day to come.
Stay strong and we agree with the other comment, slow and steady does win the race.
Love, the Munn's; Jack, David, Steven and Nancy
Thanks for your publication. One other thing is that individual American states have their unique laws which affect house owners, which makes it extremely tough for the our elected representatives to come up with a fresh set of guidelines concerning property foreclosure on house owners. The problem is that a state provides own laws which may have interaction in an unfavorable manner in terms of foreclosure policies.
