Sean Update 2/11/11

“Thursday, February 17th at 7:00 pm is the RHS Boys Basketball game vs. Allentown. This game will be Senior Night in addition to Sean Nemazie Night

Thanks to Don Demkovitz and the RBA for organizing this fundraiser for the 2nd straight year! Here’s to a big, loud crowd and a win for the Ravens!

Sean has had some good news this month but progress has been slow…it has been a long, cold winter…hopefully spring will bring some warmth and some additional strides from Sean. The most recent eye exam turned out very good and Sean’s vision continues to get better. I had mentioned last month that Sean had been given “transfer privileges” which allow him to get out of bed and in to his wheelchair on his own. This month, he has also earned “shower privileges”…another step to regaining his independence.

The most recent Sean siting was at the Clark’s annual Super Bowl Bash. Sean had a great time. I almost didn’t recognize him as he was standing on his own in the kitchen gobbling down some wings. It gives us a chance to reflect on how far Sean has come this year. At last year’s Super Bowl when the Colts were cheated out of Peyton’s 2nd championship, Sean was still in a minimally conscious state and just showing signs of responding to touch and had not opened his eyes yet. From a bed at Kessler unable to move, see or speak to eating wings in the Clark’s kitchen. Not a bad year’s work.

Sean has been spending time catching up the 8th season of his favorite show, “24”.

Looking forward to a good month and some warmer weather so Sean can head outdoors.

More to come….Steve

  1. YAAAAY.. We are so happy that Sean is becoming more independent with each passing day, and that his vision continues to improve. Great news to hear. The basketball game is probably gonna be the loudest in Robbinsville history..... Keep up the good work my friend.....We love you.
